This is a pretty popular to debate. Of course, based on science, we can confidently that low volume - high weight training will always increase a muscle mass and potentially strength. However, if someone was trying to increase muscle endurance, higher reps - lower weight would be better. I guess to some extent, it does depend on what your training goals are. But, we must define what we meann by "growth". One could consider muscle endurance to be growth. I would sit down the middle on this argument with a slight bias towards con as I believe muscle growth is subjective to what your goals are in the gym.
